Moving On

It seems like it moves so quickly every day.  The ceiling joists are all but done & the roof joists are going up.  Not as much attic headroom as I thought.  Might have to do the stoop & crawl when I need to move around up there.  Hopefully I'll get the attic ladder picked up today so they can install.  Purchased the fireplace yesterday...  Patiently waiting for it to arrive for framing.  Moving right along.

Roof Joists are going up

The house moves very quickly.  By the time I go to work & come home is changes...  The (2) beams that span the open area of the house are (16) boards thick...  6-3/4" wide by 2' tall.  The main beam that spans the family room is 30' long.  I have no idea how they lifted it into place, but it was on the ground on Monday & in the air on Tuesday.  Magic!

Wire Pull Set-up

We set-up to pull the 378' of electrical cable from my existing service to the new house.  We have temporary power for construction & will double as our permanent power feed when we get the exterior completed.  Was tough, but Dad & I got it knocked out.  Took 3-1/2" hours...  300+ lbs of wire/comp. reel.

We pulled the cable about 20' a run w/ Dad's truck.  It was an adventure.
